Music that goes viral again and again during wintertime. Christmas songs

When it’s Christmas you can hear everywhere the same old famous songs. But there is a new entry too. Here are the most popular Christmas songs ever, plus some new ones. Feel free to suggest us a music video that we missed.

  • 1. Mariah Carey – All I Want For Christmas Is You

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” song was released in 1994 and it is on MariahCareyVEVO official YouTube Channel since November 23, 2009. It was released by Columbia Records as the lead single from her fourth studio album, Merry Christmas. Carey co-wrote and co-produced the song with Walter Afanasieff. An uptempo love song, the instrumentation includes bell chimes and heavy back-up vocals, as well as use of synthesizers. Three music videos were commissioned for the song. Two of them are filmed during the month of December 1993.

The song’s primary music video features grainy home footage of Carey, her dogs and family during the holiday season, as well as Carey dressed in a Santa suit frolicking on a snowy mountainside. Then husband Tommy Mottola makes a cameo appearance as Santa Claus, bringing Carey a gift and leaving on a red sleigh. This video has about 50.000 shares a day during winter holiday.

The second video was filmed in black and white format, and features Carey dressed in 1960s style, while paying homage to The Ronettes, alongside back up singers and male dancers. This video is the least well known.

The third one and the latest is a duet of Mariah Carey with Justin Bieber. This version is known as Super Festive! and Shazam Version. Anyway, young Justin has a very nice Santa for Christmas in the person of much more experienced Mariah… This video has about 15.000 shares per day during Christmas and the total view count almost beats the original video.

  • 2. Wham! – Last Christmas

Launched in 1984 by Wham!, this music video is online on YouTube at WhamVEVO official channel since October 25, 2009. Wham! musical group was active from 1982 to 1986 and “Last Christmas” is their most popular song ever. This one rings in every shopping mall everywhere in the world again and again each year. People actually really enjoy Wham! – Last Christmas and in this time of the year the YouTube video has over 55.000 shares per day.

  • 3. Boyz II Men – Let It Snow

Boyz II Men are less popular with “Let It Snow”. This one was released in 1993 featuring Brian McKnight. The lack of a good video prevents this one to go viral for Christmas.

  • 4. Qeen – Thank God It’s Christmas

“Thank God It’s Christmas” is a Christmas single by British rock band Queen. It was written by guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. Released on 26 November 1984, the single spent six weeks in the UK charts over Christmas 1984 and new year of 1985. No promotional video was filmed for the track, hampering its future use on music TV channels and YouTube.

  • 5. Leah Daniels – We Got Snow

This is a new 2013 entry of canadian singer Leah Daniels. Is this going to be a hit hit for wintertime? Probably not. It has less than 30.000 shares in two weeks.
